God’s answer:

They produced many offspring.

Meaning: Fir trees are popular Christmas trees, symbolizing the birth of the children of God. Firs are monoecious. A single tree produces both male and female reproductive cones ⁶. What God is talking about here is the birth of soul-mates, which will be discussed later.

Hand of God

I gave them a new start.

Meaning: God whisked them away; they were separated from Adam and Eve. They remained in Heaven.
